Kolkata is considered as the Mecca of this mad frenzy foe worship, love, laughter, fashion, fooding, holidaying, in shsort a complete celebration that Durgotsab represents.

Kumartuly Sarbogunin Durga Puja bears all the goodness of a social revolution that this festival can bring with a lot of additional virtues.

Glorious Past

Kumartuli Sarbojanin Durgotsav represents the glorious history of pre independent India where mass gathering were used as an instrument to fuel the urge for freedom. It bears the heritage of such unforgettable national heroes as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Artists as Bhaskar G Paul.

The Puja is organised by us is witness to many historical moments one of which occurred in 1938. Netaji Bunhash Chandra Bose wan the President or the Orgainising Committee that year, on Pancharmi the Ek Chala Kathamo (Single structure idol) of Devi Durga was gutted in an accidental fire. On urgency the famous artist Sri Gopeswar Paul recreated the idol in magic time and in the process gave birth to the Different katham (Structures) system for each of the idols which became the most popular style of idol making since then.
